Privacy policy

Last updated October 20, 2026.

I collect what I need to sell ad space on a car, show your logo, and email you if you ask. Card details go to Stripe, not me. Sponsor names, logos and sponsorships are public on purpose.

Who is responsible

BRND Labs Limited (company number 09599940), a company registered in England and Wales, whose registered office is at MB21 More Secure, Houndmills Road, Basingstoke, England, RG21 6YU, is responsible for your personal data on this site (the "controller"). Operated by Tom W Brown. Contact: hello@sponsormyroadster.com.

What I collect

  • Sponsors: your name or company name, email address, website, logo, the zone you bought, sponsorship amounts and sponsorship times.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch my servers. I receive confirmation of payment, the amount, your email and the last four digits and brand of your card.
  • Email sign-ups: your email address, what you asked to hear about, the date, and your approximate country. Signing up also adds you to my tomwbrown.com newsletter, which uses the same mailing list. One unsubscribe link takes you off both. When you sign up, Omnisend, my email provider, also records the time, your IP address and your browser details as proof that you agreed to get emails. I keep that record so I can show your consent if I ever need to (a legitimate interest in record-keeping), for as long as you’re subscribed and a reasonable period after.
  • Technical data: Cloudflare, which hosts the site, processes IP addresses and request logs to deliver and protect it. Fonts load from Google Fonts and the 3D viewer’s code loads from jsDelivr, so those services also see your IP address.
  • Your browser: the site stores a couple of small flags in your browser (for example, that you’ve already seen a scroll hint). No ad trackers or third-party analytics are used right now.

Why, and on what basis

  • To sell you a sponsorship, show your logo and link, and handle refunds: to perform our contract.
  • To send the emails you signed up for: your consent, which you can withdraw anytime.
  • To keep records for tax and accounting: legal obligation.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent fraud: legitimate interests.

What is public

The whole point of a sponsorship is that it’s public. Your sponsor name, logo, link, zone, sponsorship amounts and sponsorship times are shown on the site, including in the sponsor history after your zone has been taken over, and may appear in my posts, videos, podcasts and newsletter about the project. Your email address is never shown publicly.

Underbody Crew names are shown on the site and printed on the car. Use “Anonymous” if you’d rather not.

Who I share it with

  • Stripe, for payments and refunds.
  • Cloudflare, for hosting, storing logos and sign-ups, and security.
  • Omnisend, my email provider, to store sign-ups and send emails.
  • The people who print and apply the wraps, who get your logo file.
  • Authorities, if the law requires it.

I don’t sell your personal data and I don’t share it for advertising.

Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the US and other countries. Where UK or EU law requires it, transfers are covered by the providers’ standard safeguards.

How long I keep it

  • Sponsor details and logos: for the sponsorship and the year on the car, then kept in the public sponsor history. After your placement ends you can ask me to anonymize your entry.
  • Payment and tax records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Email sign-ups: until you unsubscribe.
  • Rejected logos: deleted within 90 days of the decision.

Your rights

UK and EU: under the UK GDPR (and the EU GDPR where it applies) you can ask to access, correct, delete or move your data, object to or restrict how I use it, and withdraw consent. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.

US: depending on where you live (for example California), you can ask what personal information I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it. I don’t sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and I won’t treat you differently for using your rights.

To use any of these rights, email me. I’ll reply within one month.

Children

The site isn’t aimed at children. You need to be 18 or older, or have a parent or guardian’s permission, to buy a sponsorship.

Changes

If I change this policy in a way that matters, I’ll update the date at the top and email sponsors and subscribers.
